Articles of Religion of the Methodist Protestant Church
Preamble
The Methodist Protestant Church has been blessed with a rich heritage of holiness. The desire of this denomination is to maintain this heritage and the faith once delivered unto the saints, particularly the doctrine and experience of entire sanctification as a second work of grace. We purpose to cooperate effectively with other branches of the Church of Jesus Christ in advancing God’s kingdom. We therefore set forward the following Articles of Religion as our statements of doctrine and belief:
·That God created the Heavens and the Earth
·That the Bible is the inspired, infallible and inerrant “Word of God.”
·That Jesus Christ is the Virgin Born Son of God.
·In the divine nature of Jesus Christ.
·In the atoning blood of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins.
·In sanctification as a second definite work of grace.
·That believers may know the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit
·In the bodily resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ.
·That Jesus Christ will return soon in power and great glory.
·In an actual heaven, the reward for the saints, and an actual hell, a place of eternal punishment for the wicked.
·That marriage is ordained of God for one man and one woman to be joined for a lifetime commitment to each other.
·In the sanctity of human life.
